Summer training is in full swing and the dog are doing great!

Bruce ran the West Allis test in late July and three dogs under the age of two passed the Master test.  What a great accomplishment!  Way to go!!

Master Nationals are in Roseburg, Oregon this fall and the cutoff for qualifying is July 31st.  Bruce and his crew are working to qualify client dogs in advance of this deadline and make sure the dogs are rock solid in their skills before the big event!

BOARDING KENNELS - for training and boarding dogs

When dogs are properly cared for and kept comfortable, they are positioned to excel in a solid training program. This just makes sense to me."

-Bruce Halverson

The beautiful rural setting at Crosswinds Retrievers provides a safe environment for your dog while it stays for boarding or training.  The remote location specifically designed for retriever training is on 40 acres with dog safety in mind.  Dogs are always supervised and get out several times each day to exercise or be trained.  Experienced kennel staff pay close attention to each dog and make them feel at home.  Retrievers and short-term boarding dogs are kept in immaculate conditions at all times.  They are well cared for when they are away from their homes for training.  It is important that dogs are comfortable and properly cared for when not in training.  When dogs are properly cared for and kept comfortable, they they are positioned to excel in training.

In Wisconsin, there are 22 indoor kennels (some with outdoor runs) with Kuranda beds and music playing.  There is no stressful barking.  The dogs are always kept warm, dry and out of the elements.  There are a few kennels with outdoor runs.   There are 14 runs in Georgia.  Great consideration is given to keeping them cool and out of the heat when it gets warm in the summer months. Air conditioning and fans exchange air and keep them cool when it is warm outdoors.  The kennels are cleaned and sanitized on a daily basis by attentive staff.

Dogs are typically aired (exercised) individually to give them personalized attention.  A complete and balanced diet of Purina Pro Plan is fed.  Heartgard heartworm preventative and Frontline tick prevention is given each month.  Medications can be given if needed.
